Local Law 6 of 1980 established the Department of Audit with its duties being the auditing of
financial records and accounts of all units of County government. The County Auditor shall have
access to the financial records of all administrative units at all times, conduct any audits as
required by Section C18.02 of Article XVIII of the County Charter, review the procedures and methods
for the record keeping of inventories by each administrative unit and ascertain that all County
properties and funds which the County is responsible for are accounted for.
