Claims of liability are responded to by the Insurance Department under a self-funded liability plan established and maintained pursuant to Section 6-n of the General Municipal Law. In addition, the Insurance Department provides for the defense and indemnification of employees within the scope of Chapter 45 of the Laws of Rockland County.
