Workers’ Compensation Consortium

The Rockland County Workers’ Compensation Self-Insurance Plan was established by the County Legislature as Local Law 7 of 1980. The plan is made available only to the County, Towns, Villages, library districts, school districts and contract agencies as defined under the Workers Compensation Law. The Plan’s participants are a consortium of municipalities formed for the purpose of self-insurance for workers’ compensation insurance as required by law.
The Committee of the County Workers’ Compensation Self-Insurance Plan consists of seven members elected by the County Legislature. It administers the Plan and develops and enforces safety programs designated for the responsible and reasonable protection of the lives, health and safety of the participants’ employees.
